Mad Scientists

I had an email today  from my friend Hamble who tells of an article in the Telegraph which has the outrageous audacity to inform the world that Bassets are the least intelligent breed in tests carried out. They seem to infer, because of lack of interest on the part of us Bassets, that we cannot follow simple instructions or keep count of hiden biscuits. What a load of ***–***  as some people,of lower breeding ,would say.Has it not occurred to these eggheads that we do not follow instructions because we do not want to.A Basset does not feel obliged to pander to the requests of humans unless there happens to be something in it for us.We are also quite capable of counting as we know exactly how many biscuits we are allowed and do not bother to linger once the alloted number has been consumed. We come when called, after due considderation of the request and allow our staff just the right amount of authority to keep them happy, but we are always in charge of events. We just don’t let them know as they think we are complying with what they want us to do because we are obedient.Huh!You will  frequently hear Basset people remark that they are owned by a Basset. As this never applies  to other breeds I would put my case for Bassets being,in fact, the most intelligent breed and the scientists probably the least intelligent.
