Hi there. It's Beau speaking to you with my latest news.My best friend Hamble had a stroke a few weeks ago but due to her mums good care she is up on her feet and walking around again and she is thirteen.Way to go Hamble.I have been having a lot of disruptions because of these blessed stones but progress seems to have been made since my personal carer started to give me pure barley grass. It has balanced my PH(whatever that is)and I have not produced oxylate crystals recently. This means I don't have to go to the vet every three weeks to be washed out.I don't really mind because all the nurses make a fuss of me and take turns in walking me until I am picked up.I can then make a big fuss of the staff and because they missed me for a couple of hours I get a lot of fuss and a treat. So it's not too bad being a Basset. They nare all very happy that the barley grass seems to be working because vets and websites say that oxylate crystals are almost impossible to cure. She says to keep my fingers crossed but as I have such large feet it isn't possible.I have also discovered that Bassets are supposed to be stuborn and I am practicing this in the park by stopping to inspect any smell I can find and pretending I can't hear when she calls so she has to come back and get me.Then I get"you will go back on your lead for being naughty"but a couple of minutes later other dog people persuade her to let me off again so I think I might win.Big yawn as I need my after lunch nap not to be confused with my befor dinner nap.

Hi there. As head of staff has been "busy"with something called Christmas I have not been allowed near the computer for ages and I'm not tall enough to plug it in.Like your buddy I can see no point in bringing back a ball which has been thrown away. Why do people buy them and then chuck them into a field if they didn't want them in the first place.I have been a very nice basset this week as George,a bull mastif, was missing his friend who was away for a week.George is a giant and his legs go all over the place but I felt sorry for him as he looked so worried without Jock and so I let him" swat me " me a few times while we were running around which seemed to please him. This is because I am a very laid back hound.Head of staff says if I get any more laid back I shall fall over. Thanks for dropping by

Yo, Beau! Took me a while to find ya. Nice blog! I have a Golden buddy across the street -- his name is Brooks. He's a great guy but kind of a knucklehead -- when his Daddy throws tennis balls at him, he brings them back. Later-- Jean-Luc (I'm not letting Nigel have the computer today.)

Dear General Beauregarde,

How nice it is to be Most Important! I myself hold the title of 'Best in House', which I win every year round about the time that Crufts is on. My Person thinks that it keeps me happy because I am envious of the younger dogs on the TV. Pah! Celebrity-mad over-groomed pretenders, I say! I win 'Best in House' because I am.

Hello General Beauregarde,

My name is Hamble and I am a Golden Retriever of Advanced Years. We have met on several occasions, and even romped a little (although this is considered somewhat undignified in Basset circles, I believe). Good luck with your blog.
